I am a photographer here in the Atlanta area and am conctacted often on this subject. My latest blog post answers a lot of the questions I get about getting ones children into modeling and acting. There are some very good agencies here and a big market in the adult "real people" area as well.

This promoter is going all out to launch the Center as a Thursday night Reggae spotlight! $500 for the hottest "5 star gal".

So apparently the universe is playing tricks on those of us who are recently transplanted Northerners. It's colder today in Atlanta than it is in Ann Arbor, Michigan, or Portland, Maine. And there's snow forecast for Thursday and/or Friday. I'm going to take a stabbity stab in the dark and guess that Fulton, DeKalb, etc., do not own salters or sand trucks, and that there's no budget line item for snow removal.

So if there is substantial snowfall, what happens? The smart stock up and stay huddled in their homes until it melts, while the unfortunates who have to work brave the roads accompanied by a small handful of idiots without extensive snow driving experience who think that the SUV makes them immune? And when the two collide, it is the unfortunates who end up in the hospital or the morgue while the SUV drivers go home, take some prescription painkillers, bitch at their insurance companies that the check is taking too long, and thank the Baby Jesus of the Prosperity Gospel that everything turned out fine?

Ok it's time that I set up a home insurance plan for a house I'm closing on in a couple weeks.

Have any of you had good experiences with your home insurance company? Are the rates cheap, average or a bit pricey?

Or are there home insurance providers you wouldn't wish on your worst enemy?

Atlanta's posh Mansion on Peachtree hotel faces imminent foreclosure

The Mansion on Peachtree - one of Atlanta's latest luxury hotels in affluent Buckhead - is facing imminent foreclosure, according to an article on the Saporta Report, an Atlanta news site.

The 42-story, 127-room hotel and residential building is run by Rosewood Hotels, the Dallas-based luxury hotel operator and houses chef Tom Colicchio's restaurant, Craft Atlanta.

The Mansion's website shows a bundled rate for business travelers for as low as $269 per night, with breakfast, internet and parking included.

The project's problems stem from the massive travel downturn that's hit luxury hotels harder than other hotels as well as a credit crunch that curbed sales of the 45 multi-million-dollar condo units, the story says. ( Read more... )

Can anyone recommend a place in the city where I can get a good henna design done?

Anyone know a reputable company who will do mold/mildew removal in a basement/crawlspace area?

I'm currently working as a medical transcriptionist, and I'm looking for some additional part-time work. Does anyone know of any part-time jobs available? I have a college degree (BA in English), many years of administrative/clinical experience, customer service experience, sales/telemarketing. I type 70+ words per minute, I'm great with the internet, Microsoft Word/Excel, and I have a little Quickbooks experience.

If anyone knows of anything (preferably in the Marietta/Kennesaw area or not too far from there), please let me know!

Hello,

I need an adult sized batman costume in a size large. Do any of you have one I can buy or rent? It's for my son's birthday party next Saturday. It's for a three year old birthday so it doesn't have to be anything overly fancy.

I have called Party City, Toys R Us, Craigslist and Museum Replicas. I have also checked on Amazon but they take awhile to ship out and won't get here in time.

I've also inquired about hiring a professional to come out but they are expensive and require paperwork, deposits, waivers from all children involved etc and I don't think I have enough patience or budget to go through all that for a three year old two party.

Any other ideas?
